Daniel Levy: Fans react to Tottenham chairman’s explanation for not making any signings this summer

Daniel Levy, the Tottenham Hotspur chairman, has divided fans over his comments defending Spurs’ lack of activity in this summer’s transfer market.

He said: “We have a duty to manage the club appropriately,” as quoted by BBC Sport.

“Some of the activity that is going on at the moment is just impossible for it to be sustainable… you can’t keep doing it.”

But while the above may sound a somewhat reasonable justification for so far not competing with rivals to sign players, some have found his words tough to stomach given Manchester City were told to pay £50million for full-back Kyle Walker earlier this month.
