Metz are confident of tying up a deal for Newcastle United flop Emmanuel Riviere.

The striker has had a miserable time in England since moving there from Monaco in 2014.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Osasuna, but now he looks set to leave the North East for good.

According to L’Equipe, Riviere is closing in on a move to Metz and he is confident a deal will be completed soon.

The Ligue 1 club have been tracking the Frenchman since the start of July and they want him to lead the line for them next season.

Turkish side Osmanlispor have also expressed an interest in Riviere – but he wants to return back home to France.
