Manchester City are hopeful of beating competition from neighbours United to make Benjamin Mendy their second signing of the summer from Monaco. Pep Guardiola is set to follow his £43million signing for midfielder Bernardo Silva by sealing a £38m deal for left-back Mendy. (Daily Express)

West Ham want to sign Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford and use Adrian as a makeweight in a deal worth around £25million. (The Sun)

West Ham have made a bid for Manchester City’s £20m-rated striker Kelechi Iheanacho. City boss Pep Guardiola is likely to allow the 20-year-old to leave this summer with West Ham heading up the queue of clubs keen to sign him. (Daily Mirror)

Manchester United are in talks to sign Inter Milan’s Croatian star Ivan Perisic in a £36million swoop. Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho was in Zagreb in March to watch midfielder play for national side and a deal is now believed to be close to completion. (The Sun)

Chelsea will hold talks with Diego Costa after the striker issued the club with an ultimatum over his future. Just hours after Chelsea missed out on the Double by losing the FA Cup final to Arsenal, Costa insisted that he would not be pushed to China and Atlético Madrid were the only club he was interested in joining if he left.
